Frequently asked questions
How often should I film a construction timelapse?
For most construction projects, weekly visits produce the best results. You get enough frames to show clear progress without gaps. For slower-moving projects or long-term builds (6+ months), monthly visits can work well and keep costs lower. We will help you choose the right frequency during planning.
What's the difference between iPhone and 4K cinema timelapse?
iPhone timelapse ($100/hr) is shot in 4K ProRes with natural lighting. It looks great on social media and works well for progress documentation. Professional 4K cinema ($200/hr) uses dedicated cinema cameras, professional lighting, and wider dynamic range. Best for marketing materials, presentations, or when you want broadcast-quality footage.
How long does a typical construction timelapse project last?
Project duration varies widely. Kitchen remodels might be 4-8 weeks. New construction can run 6-12 months or longer. We work with your timeline and can adjust the filming schedule as the project evolves. There are no long-term contracts, so you can pause or stop at any time.
Can you start filming mid-project or do I need to start from the beginning?
You can start at any point. While capturing the full build from foundation to finish produces the most dramatic timelapse, starting mid-project still creates valuable content. Many clients start filming during the framing or drywall phase and still get impressive results showing the transformation to a finished space.
Do you provide the final compiled video or just raw clips?
Both. After each visit, you receive the raw footage within 24 hours. At the end of the project (or at milestones you define), we compile all footage into a polished timelapse video with music, transitions, and color grading. The compilation is included with weekly and monthly packages, or available as an add-on for per-visit bookings.
Can timelapse footage be used for insurance or legal documentation?
Yes. Timelapse footage provides a dated visual record of construction progress that can be useful for insurance claims, dispute resolution, and compliance documentation. Each video file includes metadata with the date and time of capture. We recommend the 4K cinema tier if the footage may be used in legal or formal settings.
