Frequently Asked Questions
Are your drone pilots FAA certified?
Yes. All our drone pilots hold FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificates, which is the commercial drone license required by federal law. We are also fully insured for drone operations, giving you peace of mind on every flight.
Can you fly drones over active construction sites?
Yes. We regularly fly over construction sites. We coordinate with the site foreman to ensure worker safety, maintain proper altitude clearances, and follow all FAA and site-specific safety protocols. Active construction aerial documentation is one of our core services.
What kind of drones and cameras do you use?
We fly professional-grade DJI drones with 4K cameras, 3-axis gimbals for smooth stabilized footage, and obstacle avoidance sensors. Our drones shoot in high dynamic range and can capture both video and high-resolution still photography in a single flight.
Do you need permission to fly in certain areas of Seattle?
Yes. Parts of Seattle fall within controlled airspace near airports (Boeing Field, Sea-Tac, Renton). We handle all required LAANC authorizations or FAA waivers before every flight. We check airspace restrictions during booking and let you know if any approvals are needed.
How high can the drones fly?
Under FAA Part 107 rules, the maximum altitude is 400 feet above ground level. In many cases, that is more than enough to capture stunning aerial views of properties and construction sites. Near structures, we can fly up to 400 feet above the top of the structure.
Can drone footage be combined with ground-level video?
Absolutely. Most of our clients combine drone footage with ground-level video. You can add drone as a $100/hr add-on to any construction video, real estate, or social media shoot. The aerial and ground footage are edited together into a single cohesive video.
