2.1 Information You Provide
- Account Information: Name, email address, phone number, password (hashed)
- Booking Information: Shoot location, project details, date/time preferences, video type
- Payment Information: Billing address for tax calculation (card details are processed directly by Stripe and never stored on our servers)
- Communications: Messages sent through our platform, support requests, feedback
- Videographer Applications: Portfolio links, equipment information, work history, banking details for payouts
2.2 Information Collected Automatically
- Device Information: IP address, browser type, operating system, device identifiers
- Usage Data: Pages visited, time spent, clicks, booking flow interactions
- Location Data: Approximate location based on IP address (for videographer matching)
- Cookies: Session cookies, preference cookies, analytics cookies (see Section 7)
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide Services: Process bookings, match you with videographers, facilitate payments
- Communications: Send booking confirmations, reminders, and status updates via email and SMS
- Customer Support: Respond to inquiries and resolve issues
- Improve Platform: Analyze usage patterns to enhance features and user experience

4.1 With Videographers
When you book a shoot, we share your name, contact information, shoot location, project details, and scheduling information with the assigned videographer. This is necessary to complete your booking.
4.2 With Service Providers
- Stripe: Payment processing and videographer payouts (PCI-DSS compliant)
- Supabase: Database hosting and user authentication
- Cloudflare: Website hosting, CDN, and security services
- Resend: Transactional email delivery
- Google: Maps/Places API for address validation, Calendar for strategy calls
- PostHog: Product analytics (anonymized usage data)
4.3 Legal Requirements
We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or government request, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Vourly, our users, or others.
4.4 Business Transfers
If Vourly is acquired or merges with another company, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you of any such change.
5. Data Storage and Security
5.1 Where We Store Data
Your data is stored on servers in the United States operated by our service providers (Supabase, Cloudflare). Video footage files are stored on Cloudflare R2 storage.
5.2 Security Measures
- All data transmitted over HTTPS/TLS encryption
- Passwords hashed using industry-standard algorithms
- Database access restricted with Row Level Security (RLS)
- Payment card data handled directly by Stripe (never touches our servers)
- Regular security audits and vulnerability assessments
- CSRF protection on all authenticated actions
5.3 Data Retention
- Account Data: Retained while your account is active, deleted within 30 days of account deletion request
- Booking Records: Retained for 7 years for tax and legal compliance
- Video Footage: Available for download for 14 days after delivery (extendable), then permanently deleted
- Marketing Data: Unsubscribe records kept permanently to honor opt-out requests
- Abandoned Cart Data: Deleted after 90 days
6. Your Rights and Choices
6.1 Access and Portability
You can view your account data, booking history, and messages through your client portal. You may request a copy of your data in a portable format by contacting us.
6.2 Correction
You can update your account information directly in your profile settings or contact us for assistance.
6.3 Deletion
You may request deletion of your account and personal data. Note that we may retain certain information as required by law (for example, transaction records for tax purposes).
6.4 Marketing Opt-Out
You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the link in our emails or by contacting us. Transactional emails (booking confirmations and similar) cannot be opted out of while using our service.
6.5 California Residents (CCPA)
California residents have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act:

- Right to opt out of sale of personal information (Vourly does not sell personal information)

Required for the platform to function (authentication, security, session management). Cannot be disabled.

We use Google Analytics and PostHog to understand how users interact with our platform. You can opt out using browser settings or the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
7.3 Third-Party Cookies
Some third-party services (Stripe, Google Maps) may set their own cookies. Please refer to their respective privacy policies.

Vourly is based in the United States and our services are primarily intended for users in the U.S. If you access our platform from outside the U.S., your data will be transferred to and processed in the United States.
